Actually tho, likes are public, would be good to make that super clear by making a likes tab even though it'll probably change how much liking i do on main idk

I think ppl would react pretty bad if it were implemented in the official app tbh, even if it does get the point across it would lower the bar to entry to snoop on someone

Thinking it might make sense to have "my likes" be visible but not other peoples' likes so you can use likes as bookmarks etc. Maybe put some kind of message in that tab on another person's profile to let you know "the data is public but we won't show it to ya" etc.

Yeah anyone who is reading the firehose can see all the likes. Tricky situation.

Yeah it's easily visible. I'm fine with this (and writing something for the Firehose now anyway) but I'm curious what norms/feelings around this are like here.

Probably like on Twitter, I would assume - Twitter has also had a public likes tab since forever, but pointing out someone's likes would normally be considered somewhat creepy unless they're some kind of public figure

Yeah that makes sense. And viewing your own likes is probably fine.
