However I do have a backend set up so if I had to that it wouldn’t be the end of the world

Am looking into that as well. What endpoint are you registering device tokens against? At least on iOS you cannot register decices against the official bsky backend because of differing signing keys (app, backend).

Even if you connect your FCM to your APNS account (which is possible), how are you getting the notifications from Bluesky to YOUR FCM instance?

As far as I understand the library it only handles the client-side of push notifications. The issue I have is that i don’t see a way to enable bsky to push notifications to firebase/apns that then get delivered to 3rd party apps. For that to work bsky would need the 3rd party‘s push certificate.

I’ve got nothing working yet since I only just started implementing it, but I’ll report back when I do

Yeah I’d like to add that too but dont wanna make promises since I wanna prioritise a quick update cadence. If not this one then the next one

Curious question.....how difficult would be to have inline videos? Is that something that needs to be addressed at the protocol level or can the app take care of that (not a dev so question might sound partially illogical LOL)

Very - you need a whole processing pipeline to crush them down to a reasonable size, and the bandwidth/storage requirements are way higher

Is there a way to control different notification types (without too much of a hassle) like if some one wants only notification for follows or replies (but not likes and reposts etc)

How can I change my settings, that my feed will be there, where I left it. Everytime I open the app, the feed is on top.
