thinking about the rabbit guy who thinks that apple couldn’t figure out how to turn the flash on on their own phones until someone made a flashlight app

by submitting as app, you submitting all your codes to them. think about it. remember there's one of the most popular apps you want early days on app store was called 'flashlight' now see what happens? apple just incorporated that feature in iOS. so are building apps sustainable to a startup? maybe not. 4 7 43

no, he’s 100% right. the original flashlight app used the screen and was innovative… you could select brightness and color temp right in the app. there was no flash at the time. that is what revealed the usefulness of using a phone as a flashlight

oh dang I was only remembering when there was a back flash for the camera but no OS button to turn it on. Still, his point is still very dumb since his hardware startup just got evicerated by gpt-4o lol

even a stopped clock etc. apple is known for usurping their own star ecosystem developers, not as bad as microsoft but they definitely have a long history of it.

I get your point, but we were using our phone screens as flashlights in the flip phone days. Let’s not pretend this was an incredibly innovative idea.

Well, Rabbit is a whole new class of software never seen before with tons of ip to protect, it's clearly not functionally similar to *checks notes* siri.
