Boring Weirdo
I read that too fast as the “Allen franchise” and thought you meant Woody Allen and that his entire filmography was one giant MCU-style franchise.

The first one came out when i was 9, but my parents didn't let me see it until I was 13 which was, I must admit, a good call.

The TTRPG is a lot of fun, with a Stress mechanic which gives extra dice to roll as the situation becomes more tense, but risks characters breaking down at an inopportune moment. It also ties into the Blade Runner TTRPG too, for a little extra fun. freeleaguepublishing.com/games/alien/

"Aliens" was a great popcorn movie. I like it for that. But few films have really gotten to me the way the original did.

I really love the way the developers captured that late 1970s/early 1980s sci-fi aesthetic. They could have had highly-sophisticated CGI androids, but the Working Joes look like people in suits because that's what would have been in a movie at that time.

gosh I wanted to, like it had everything going for it and then somehow it just draggedddd toward the middle and end. maybe it was expectations tho, alien is so goddamn good.

Alien and Aliens are obviously awesome, I also liked a lot both Covenant and Prometheus. Alien 3 and Resurrection are skippable. Stoked for Romulus.
A Sentient Pile of Spaghetti
i'm an "it ended with Aliens" guy. the rest of the franchise is massively flawed -- so far. i'm going to watch Romulus to be sure, but my expectations aren't high. if you watch the first two films you'll probably like them -- unless you really don't like survival horror.
