Behold, a design for a "tensegrity table" that is both laterally and rotationally stable, and cool looking. I think if you made this out of wood and steel cable, you could sit on it without issue.
a structure made from cardboard and sewing thread. there are two separate cardboard structures, both the same shape, each like a triangular pyramid with the top cut off. one is upside down and intersecting with the other. black threads held in tension hold one of the pyramids "levitating" above the other.the same structure with a (mostly empty) jar of nutella on top (nominally 350g when full)
