For a Linux user, you can already build such a system yourself quite trivially by getting an FTP account, mounting it locally with curlftpfs, and then using SVN or CVS on the mounted filesystem

on web you're calling compressVideo(asset) and then compressVideo(..) expects a string and then you're doing parseDataUrl(asset) and then it blows up because asset.slice() isn't a thing -- i think you need to compressVideo(asset.uri)
