I agree, but I have the feeling some people constrain themselves to one interaction on a post

Need to point out that reposting something depends a lot on a user's followers. I don't repost much because a) not many will see it and b) Chances are they've already seen it. Which brings up the other issue of how to have forum-like discussions on this platform

Usually (News/some poster) brought that "info, news", so we give likes to make that Post appears in other Feeds, such as Catch Up, Discover and other feeds. Not "liking" children... die 😭

Wait, likes *do* something?? I've never heard of my liking something causing it to appear in a feed or anything. I've been using Likes as a sort of bookmark function, mostly.

This Feeds and others feeds use Likes as their "Algorithm" (if I can say that). You can see The most popular post got likes, post under 20 likes, what post people you following Likes . Discover also use your likes to have better recommendation.

If reposting, especially on BlueSky, I always try to like it as well. On some OTHER platforms I'd sometimes repost things I DIDN'T like and so refused to actually hit the like button, but on bsky I am very wary of my algorithm (I accidentally got Discover FILLED w pizza pics when I first got here 😂)
