David BuchananI think we're talking literal Discord dot com here, not Discord-like

nikomoJust needs videos to embed in Discord and half of my general channels are probably Bluesky posts.

Erlend Sogge HeggenI’m happy about the tighter integration, hope to see the redundant data display rolled back: bsky.app/profile/erle...
Erlend Sogge Heggen@erlend.sh· 22 Nov 2024I want the old bsky embed back in Discord 🥺
When I’m sharing a bsky link it’s always strictly because of its contents.
Number of likes, reposts, quotes and replies is irrelevant noise in this context and takes up a colossal amount of screen space.

KomasanDiscord also seems to be adding linking and showcasing your Bluesky profile on your profile. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Do you mind explaining this so that a non-dev understands this?
With all due respect, the first questions that popped into my head was: What does that even mean? And so what?
Is this like connecting auth/accounts, cross-posting, or…something else?

sirocylLong story short: You know how Discord embeds videos in posts from Twitter, Youtube and other sites? In order for that to work for Bluesky, it required special handling.
Discord embeds not just the video, but their own very tiny, but compatible, Bluesky client (called an AppView) with the post.
sofwait what
