What you guys are referring to as React Native, is in fact, React/Native, or as I've recently taken to calling it, React plus Native

i bitch about it a lot but React Native is awesome. if you’re a native engineer you might feel skeptical, but it isn’t a lowest common denominator crossplatform abstraction. rather, i like to think of it as a scripting orchestration layer for platform views (which you can still write). like in games

Is there or will there ever be an effort to call Jetpack Compose components from React/Native? Eventually Compose will be the default native toolkit on Android. Also I'm wondering the same about SwiftUI but I'm less knowledgable on that side of the fence.

@danabra.mov I'm actually a senior web engineer, and React Native is top-notch for me, coming from the React world. It helps me every day as we create and maintain a React Native app in production.

React is not a UI framework unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning UI system made useful by UIKit, Android NDK and vital system components comprising a full renderer as defined by Fabric. (How'd I do?)

That‘s why getting rid of the Bridge is the biggest and most important achievement of React Native. Making it React + Native and not React + wait for it… Native.
