Chroma Punk StudiosDude, I'm still on my Pixel 4. I really need an upgrade. This poor bastard is really feeling its age. I'll say this though, I've never had a phone last this long. The Pixel line is a good set of phones.

sybull.bsky.socialStill rocking a Pixel 2XL ! Does everything I ask if it.

jakelawrence0.bsky.socialI'm on a 7a, the battery is terrible
2 1sybull.bsky.socialMy battery still lasts a day. I am not a heavy user, but this is the main reason for not upgrading until I am forced to.
1 1Chroma Punk StudiosI started on the Pixels with that same phone. It was a damn good phone.
CollisionIf you're willing to give it a shot and take the risk, Ifixit sells replacement parts for the pixels and has guides that you can follow. New battery and screen breathed new life into my pixel 5
1sybull.bsky.socialThe one part of my phone that is becoming dodgy is the USB connector. Might be worth looking into .
1
Trevor HeywoodI still miss my Nexus. Replaced the battery twice and installed aftermarket OS, made it last 7 years. We lost something when phones became sealed canisters and the pop-off back became a thing of the past.

rooot :3nice!! be glad you didn't choose a samsung ^^

๐๐๐ฏ๐ฃ๐๐ I'm curious whats wrong with samsung phones?
1 1
tiddlydump.bsky.socialSamsung takes Android and crams it full of bloatware trash.
2 6rooot :3not just that
they've started putting more and more stupid restrictions into the OS, you cant get rid of some of their own services anymore (which run 24/7), they broke custom theming, they crammed unremovable Galaxy AI garbage everywhere, etc etc.. the list goes on
1 1 6๐๐๐ฏ๐ฃ๐๐ Tell me more. I was planning to get a samsung phone and just use One UI after removing most bloat etc. with adb pm.
And I don't think there are any aosp roms you can install on new samsung phones anymore.
๐๐๐ฏ๐ฃ๐๐ I always categorized one ui and pixel roms into the same category in terms of spyware, so never thought of the extra bloatware.
Can't you get rid of the bloatware via pm from adb tho?
