I have my own theory, in the alt text. Do we need this alt text stuff? They are theories ...

Can we make self censoring on BlueSky via alt text a thing. I love this.
1 15I'm not sure that's a great idea for the visually impaired people, alt text is for, as you're not describing the images AND not allowing them to opt out....
1 5To be clear, OP does accurately describe the images of Gromet before running off on a tangent. Also, as BlueSky is primarily text driven, the pre-warning in the post that there would alt text appropriation is warning enough IMO.
1 3If you are set up to see alt text you just get it, I believe. Not a clicking thing.
1We have ROT-13 for this :)

There should be a spoiler feature in Bsky, putting a black box over selected text, which is revealed when you click it. Other sites have it.
2 3I agree. Maybe the one feature from Mastadon I'd like ported over.
1Absolutely agree. But Alt-text is not that. :)
Fair enough, but these are television series speculations.
1 1And? Blind people watch television.
1That is not where I meant that reply to go. I just meant the stakes are low. I'm not blind i use the hell out of audio descriptions (which are usually amazingly done).
1The stakes may be low... but it costs nothing to use a tool for the benefit of the people it's designed for and not dilute the usefulness of it. Folks with visual impairment don't need spoilers EITHER.
WE HAVE ROT 13 FOR THIS.
I don't mean to be a scold, truly, but it's shitty to abuse it.
2My first reaction was also "I LOVE THIS," and then I thought about it for a second in terms of "what does this do, practically," and it got more stinky than sweet in a hurry.
