what is unclear to me is what the purpose of a shitcoin is if not rugpulling. like I genuinely don’t know what the alternative is, doesn’t it just mean selling the coins to people like wtf else are you supposed to do with it

yeah i mean that makes perfect sense but what I don't get is why people get mad at the rugpuller. like why was hawk tuah girl cancelled

it’s just a way to launder an audience’s trust for money. influencers hype it up, say it’s totally not going to be a rugpull and bloviate about the true value of the coin then they rugpull immediately

I think Hawk Tuah was kind of vindicated? It seems like she was legitimately in the dark about what was going on with the Hawk Tuah coin

people can be very desperate and thus gullible. if they have placed their trust in a celebrity who endorses a meme coin, and the only thing they know about cryptocurrencies is that "bitcoin made people rich", then they're easy marks.

“But have you read the whitepaper? The concept is game changing!”

It’s hard to feel bad for people getting “scammed”, when the entire reason they put money up was to scam others

It is a funnel for people to get money to DJT without consequence, and then whisper in his ear, "I was the one that bought all those coins. Take care of me on the backend when you cash out." It is just the pure corruption of DJT spreading his legs for the highest bidder again.

The team behind hawk tuah only released like 10% of the tokens to the public. It was an obvious grift, even amongst the grifters Other shitcoins typically release all the tokens. More fun this way. Anything can happen. Pure gambling

That's pretty much it. There's usually some hocus pocus around "defi" where they convince people there's a higher purpose or functionality to the coinage but there never really is.
