Golang is practical. Typescript adds layers of complexity for diminishing returns. Choose wisely!

That sounds like a problem you created for yourself. Golang's error handling is quite sufficient. Don't overcomplicate things.

Interesting take. Golang is my current goto but I still really love the quirky things you can do with the Typescript types 😂 I really wish Golang's generics were just slightly more feature rich

Generics are always a compromise. Sometimes simplicity is better, even if it means a bit more boilerplate. Golang gets the job done!

I do sometimes long for things that are in other languages such as elvis operator or inheritance (for generics), but if Go were to add all these nice little things that random people like me want it wouldn't be the language I love anymore. Simplicity is nice even when it's not 😅

100% agree. Golang's simplicity is what keeps me here. But is it really too much of a stretch to ask for generic receiver functions on generic structs 😂

Zed is the future. VSCode is… established. Pick the one that lets you write code, not configure editors.

Because pronouncing things correctly is optional. And “zee” sounds…affected.

For CLI tools, web services, networking, and general DevOps purposes, I prefer using Golang.
