I can’t replicate it :( here’s what I know: It seems to affect older Android phones only (unclear exactly what the cutoff is). It says permission denied, despite appearing to have granted permission previously

Samuel sorry for the intrusion but there is an equally important bug, the "translate" does not work anymore if you have the Google Translator app installed, it opens the app but with empty text.

My bug is somewhat related I can't select and copy individual words anymore in the android app The only option that works is "copy post text" in the menu Android 15 Latest version of the app

On my Samsung Galaxy I can keep the Android home button pressed. That pops up a tool that lets me select and copy text or images.

Could be related to this odd behaviour on iOS. When saving an image BlueSky tries to access the camera roll. However it doesn’t need access to save photos on iOS. And uploading images (whether in a post, profile image etc) it uses iOS private camera roll so doesn’t access it again

There isn’t a “add photos only” setting for BlueSky so enabling that option may help? Idk how it would work with private camera roll then however

Here are the permissions I’ve given the app and what shows when uploading an image/video. Android moot said clearing the cache fixed the issue

I could be wrong here, but I changed my privacy settings on iOS so BlueSky can’t access any images. BlueSky won’t upload any images despite it using iOS’s private camera roll, so it shouldn’t need permission??

i'm on android 11 and when i went to save a pic, it gave me some permission error at the very top. without changing anything, i went to do it again to screenshot it and then it just worked. so 🤷

While you're mucking around in there, could you have it save the photos somewhere else so that Google photos doesn't upload them automatically? My wife doesn't need to see my memes.

📢 App Version 1.102 is rolling out now with a bunch of bugfixes and minor improvements. Also: • On Android, photos are now saved to the "Bluesky" folder • New application language: Frisian

Samsung A22, Android 13, app 1.102.0.652, camera permission already enabled, save image works as expected

Couldn't reproduce with any combination of removing permission, restarting app, and accepting or denying permission

Running ver 1.102.0 on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Everything saved properly till this morning - it's odd because the app says the photos are being saved but they do not appear in the file history as ever having truly downloaded. Hope this helps in anyway!

Yeah I saw you were thinking it mostly affected older device so I found it strange that my decently up to date phone broken out of the blue - but again re installing seems to have made the permissions work again, so no harm done

When i save it says "saved image", I check my gallery and it isn't there (making sure to check DCIM and my general recent folder) I have an S23 if that helps

It's working for me. What you might want to look at is folder creation permissions. In this latest release they've started saving photos to a "Bluesky" sub folder, so that seems like a smoking gun.

it’s actually not that. the error that gets thrown happens before we reach that part of the code

I fixed being unable to save images on my Android device, getting a message that I needed to enable the files and media permission that was already enabled. Removing the files and media permission and attempting to save an image, creates a prompt to enable it, and fixed the issue.

I get the same error message, it worked before. Android 11. Build: 55.2.A.4.332

I've not had issue with saving images, but I do have a new bug, I can't open the post then long press and select the text anymore. (I was using that to bypass the translate bug, but now that fails)
