it’s just incomprehensible
I like the RSC parts. but there’s just so much shit in there and it always breaks every time you upgrade in the most inexplicable ways
the nice thing about React Native is you’re just building an App. and you don’t have to pretend to not be doing that even when that’s what you want to do
React router has been ruined for me - just finished refactoring a legacy codebase to use next - junior devs horrifically abused Outlets so tracing where data was fetched to where it was used was very challenging. Not the frameworks fault, but it seems like its meant more for sites without middleware
React router is crazy fast though, way faster than next. I can imagine it was would be fun to use, provided it's used in the way it was intended. Easy to see why shopify use it for public facing sites, its very lightweight.
100% a product that makes less sense outside of Vercel every month. on the plus side it's almost time to continue my feature request fanfic bsky.app/profile/iame...
I stumbled onto SvelteKit shortly after my first NextJS project and never looked back. Even for native apps, I'd choose Tauri with Svelte over React Native. React feels too much like IKEA development. It relies on the client to put the pieces together instead of sending a finished product.
