Pretty seamless for me and that's with all the corporate lockdowns bolted on

my personal macbook is on tahoe but I haven't updated my work laptop yet lol. I love iOS 26 but am not a fan of Tahoe

review after one day: - feels half-hearted compared to iOS26 - mail and finder are ugly - music is nice - sound indicator is really nice - window animations are nice but inconsistent - it’s fine

Any real good reason to upgrade other than not good ones, like curiosity and a strange taste in cosmetic changes?

ehhhh no not really. the Music app seems significantly better though (was constantly breaking/refusing to play on the previous version)

I always feel like this was a reaction to Microsoft also binning their own guidelines of "too many icons!" Although, to give Windows 11 credit, the depth created by colours (as documented in the current Fluent design guidelines) do make them far better to differentiate than Tahoe

Also why is the arrow into the box the save icon? Yes I know the save icon is famously an archaic skeuomorph that probably clashes with your clean (well, "clean") and modern aesthetic, but also, every computer user knows what it means.

If not, well, hardly any choice anymore. With next macOS version (27) macOS 15 is no longer fully supported. And I think also Homebrew will stop then building binary releases.

Not sure about Homebrew, but IIRC they generally support security fixes for 3 versions, so Sequoia should be good for the next 1.5 years until they release 28

Is this the message I should reply to if I want to rant about all things I dislike about the current status of MacOS while stealing some visibility from someone more popular than me?

Audio stops working for no discernible reason. It will pair, but no sound comes out. Lots of well meaning chatter about restarting daemons, but rebooting seems to be the only actual "fix".
