good news: I fixed Signal link previews. posts without images show a reasonably-sized avatar (also seems to have fixed whatsapp, telegram etc)

oh, nice! signal shows your avatar as a social image for text only, I may prefer to avoid the expansion if it takes half the view port

samuel seems to have harcoded Xan's handle to avoid disrupting users, they would have revolted if we lost the gigantic avatar expansion for him

luckily since they’re open source, I could go find out for myself what the criteria are for the large and small image previews, and then adapt to that (it just needed a smaller image)

that's all on signal im afraid, not much we can do on our end. they have a somewhat arbitrary criteria for what is big and what is small - clearly the top one is not large enough
