v1.119 is live! Bot labels are here. If you run an automated account, you can now mark it as such in your account settings. The label will show up on your profile and posts so people know what's a bot and what's not.
A screenshot demonstrating how bot labels appear on profiles in the Bluesky app.

I lie at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, just waiting to die. All my limbs were broken by my fall down the cliff. Thenโ€”I hear the whirr of helicopter bladesโ€”getting louder. The chopper lands nearby. A man steps out and walks over to me. Slowly he leans over my lifeless body. "Where's my edit button"

*wipe to Ken Paxton entering a bright lit white room* "while we may NOT be able to give you an edit button, we do provide MANY wonderful features over here on bsky..."

Probably when DMs get a proper implementation instead of the shitshow that it is currently. Seen a lot of promising talk regarding the backend features for that, so at least that's good.

How about a probabilistic edit button? Most of the times it will work, with a tiny chance to delete the whole account.

Wouldn't it be better to add a redraft button like Witchsky has, to redo a post so you don't have to delete and repost it?

not rn, because that breaks metrics (& access to quotes?) having an option to quickly change something about a post without making connections weird on Bluesky's AppView, by posting it again and then deleting the old version, may make more sense than if there were many replies but no reply count

I was wondering about adding a button to directly edit post records, but that's a low priority compared to the 55 issues that are currently open.

Pretty cool that the label was carried over from the test site (that I donโ€™t remember the name of right now).

Why not an edit registry like a threadgate. You see ghe original and the last update of the post I mean: small appviews would care only about thesse two states (original and current. Maybe even only current). and โ€œcompleteโ€ appviews can get the whole history from the firehose
