Hmm community handles is actually a little more expensive to host than I thought, especially if it gets popular. Any ideas how much is reasonable to charge? I went with £10/year initially but I’m thinking maybe a smaller amount but monthly? Bare in mind, I just want the cost to cover Vercel Pro

Omg didn’t read your bio 😂 I regret being so blunt, so sorry I’ve used firebase rtdb in the past and while it was nice to work with when it worked, I found the docs really hard to navigate. I also ended up missing the type safety you get from something like Prisma (idk if firestore is different?)

Also, it was a bit of a pain writing react bindings for it. It’d be great to see an official package for that, I’d probably be much more inclined to use it if that was the case

Don’t worry, I can handle blunt 😂 If you want to work with native types in Firestore, check out the FirestoreDataConverter interface. If you want react bindings, check out ReactFire. If you want to host react or next, check out our new “web frameworks” experiment in hosting.

Great, thank you so much! I haven’t checked out firebase in such a long time, so thanks for these resources - I’ll give it a try for my next project
