Time to figure out wtf they’re doing
1haileyso i have a custom header that i use (animates the image up and away, moves the avatar up, etc)
this works great with or w/o this library. the annoying part i *didnt* want to have to deal with on my own is getting the bio area to not have to be a part of the list...
2 2SamuelOhhh I see. Wait, so you could some sort of insane layout where the header has a hole it in for the bio text, and then the tabs, and then the rest of the list. Interesting…
1 1haileyyea...its a bad solution though. i haven't looked at that lib's codebase extensively yet so...i might try this out tomorrow (today lol why am i awake right now)
2 1SamuelJank all the way down :/
haileyi THINK (with question marks, quotes, bold, asterisks...) reanimated might be the solution here...well i know it is but the question is how...that lib makes it seem like a nested scroll view, but it isn't of course. maybe if we animate the "collapse" of the bio?

haileytake note of this: docs.swmansion.com/react-native... SOMEHOW WE WILL BE USING IT
1 1SamuelI think the header part needs to be covered by a gesture handler, which somehow splits gestures to apply them to both the header and the scroll view at the same time. Then all our problems would be solved
1haileyhmmm..that also made me think, doesn't the gesture handler library have a pressable component? does that handle some of the weird issues we are having? *opens docs*
1haileyso not listed in the docs...theres a TouchableOpacity and a TouchableHighlight...let me try something out here

I think this is what we want
Gesture composition & interactions | React Native Gesture Handler
Composing gestures is much simpler in RNGH2, you don't need to create a ref for every gesture that depends on another one. Instead you can use Race, Simultaneous and Exclusive methods provided by the ...
