Love this feed switch mechanism on @skeetsapp.com - considered going with this myself, and now I’m thinking maybe I should’ve done!
Context menu coming from the screen header title with a list of feeds 2 8

To be fair I prefer the way it is now because it's easier to access, it's closer to my thumb and by changing to the header it'll be quite a bit harder

Tabs still have a problem, if you have too many tabs you'll have to scroll on them directly and that's taking your thumb too high on the screen Unless you want to scroll horizontally many times in the timeline itself (I really like the Feeds floating button)

Tabs (or horizontal menus in general) are not really ideal from an accessibility POV since the screenreader cannot 'skip' the horizontal layout. So when 'swiping' through the horizontal tabs the screenreader has to go through all of them until it can access the content underneath.

I also really like that floating button, it’s honestly one of the main reasons I use Graysky, I hate nearly dropping my phone when I use it on the go cause there’s tabs at the top.

I agree. I'm not 100% happy with it either. I'm thinking about also putting in a long-tab on the bottom tab to open a feed switching menu.

Multi-purposing the canonical ‘home’ CTA seems infinitely intuitive to me. But current functionality is great — Skeets always takes me where I expect to go without making me think, and the secondary concern of having a different idea about where that might be is telegraphed but admirably unobtrusive

I would keep the top menu and only add it as sort of a convenience shortcut menu. But that may also be confusing. Maybe I’ll just make it configurable (like everything else where k can’t make up my mind 😂)

How about alternating function? Tap once keeps current behaviour. Second tap goes to feed selection. Next tap goes back to default feed.

🫶 How is the accessibility integration of RN? I had some issues with this control and was about to toss it out, because the screenreader didn't like it at first.

I’m no expert but I think it can do most things that the native platform can. It’s using native components, just orchestrated via JS
