quoting this for broader reach - what should DMs default to? 1. off 2. follows only 3. all

We've been discussing this and I don't want to talk out of turn, but of the 3 options do folks generally feel that would be the best default?

2 seems sensible to me, though I'd defer to anyone who had awful experiences who feels strongly that 1 is the only way

I could maybe see us doing a prompt when you open the app for the first time since the update or something like that

Oh, that's smart!

Yeah, that sounds good!

Bluesky is smart (sometimes buggy but smart).

Off topic. About buggy. The scrolling on profiles (but not on feeds or search) on web has been totally erratic for a few weeks. Is it only me?

hmm, what browser/OS?

Chrome on MacOS (old, 10.13)

Chrome 116.0.5845.187 (last version available for 10.13, about one year old I think).

thanks, looks like we consistently get reports about this with older Chromium versions so we probably have enough to investigate this now

Hmmm, that's not a bad idea…

Default to off, but ask with the prompt if they want to turn it on!

This is the way. No matter the default, we’d immediately have the power to set what *we* want. Then it’s no one’s fault but our own what we have.

This would be good
