if I may nitpick the current impl (testing on desktop firefox), with autoplay disabled, the volume icon shows as muted but unmutes when play is pressed. if I want to mute a video before playing it, I have to click the volume icon twice - the first "unmutes" it (a nop), and the second mutes for real

oh whoops, I guess that’s a regression. didn’t test super thoroughly with autoplay off.

it was actually the same before the update heh I just didn't bother reporting it because I assumed a million others did already lol

fun fact about reporting stuff is that most people don't, always report if you find something because if you're just one more it's fine the dev will just look at it and keep scrolling if its repeated

Samuel sorry no offense but you sound very mobile-brained, autoplay and no volume slider use and all

simply an observation; from my experience, desktop users often prefer no autoplay & frequently rely on volume sliders in videos I do really appreciate the quick response to the volume slider requests & even making the scale properly logarithmic!

I don't mind it sometimes, and at least it starts out muted (just a bit more data but that's not a big problem at home), sometimes it really is more convenient. Volume sliders are an absolute must though, since I often have other audio in the background, such as a Discord call or a game.
