I haven't checked yet, does the Following count respect blocks? My following count has grown considerably recently, but I've also been followed by a lot of spam accounts, and the number feels kinda off.

A large portion of follow farms a) definitely didn't bother to learn how the platform works when they joined and are following all the established patterns for social media and b) probably copy-and-paste their same core profile stuff everywhere they go?

Maybe there's some group wisdom out there that bsky doesn't let you disable DMs but I feel like those account types are never actually invested in learning a platform, they just treat everything as another Instagram/tiktok.
