on a related note, why do all the resistslop follow farmer types have “NO DMs!!!!” in their bio? maybe we need to make it clearer that you can turn it off

A large portion of follow farms a) definitely didn't bother to learn how the platform works when they joined and are following all the established patterns for social media and b) probably copy-and-paste their same core profile stuff everywhere they go?

maybe, although I don’t remember seeing “no DMs” on other platforms

Maybe there's some group wisdom out there that bsky doesn't let you disable DMs but I feel like those account types are never actually invested in learning a platform, they just treat everything as another Instagram/tiktok.
