why are we getting so many PRs for typos all of a sudden I’d understand in-app typos, or in the readme, but people are fixing like random source code comment typos is it to try and get contributor status on the repo?

We get a ton of those in Electron too, mostly it seems to be people reputation laundering for school, etc, by "contributing to open source". We politely decline typo fixes now because when we accepted a few, a flood more came in - we now ask them to be fixed as part of larger changes generally
