@ansh.bsky.team once again reading my mind before I even know it, webhook thingy is already in the works exactly how I was visualising https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/pull/1428

how notifications are gonna work(?): 1. send login token to my server 2. my server periodically pings bsky api 3. my server sends push notifications man it would be so good if 3rd party apps could like register a webhook so my server didn't have to touch the tokens and could just forward notifs

I've never done push notifs before so my thinking might be completely wrong here

I'm down like 10 invite codes due to testing lol, I think I must have received a random one while testing

for a moment there I'm proud to say I had bluesky's most insecure password

Play Store console: does anyone know how I can publish only the open testing thing here? I don't want to release to production yet lol

Oops, I woke up and found this now resembles Discourse™. Sorry about that everyone, back to your regularly scheduled programming

ironic how the domain handles system lends authority to an account since you can trust that whoever owns the domain owns the account - and yet the bluesky team themselves don't have one consistent domain: they use bsky.app, bsky.social, bsky.team, atproto.com... makes them way easier to impersonate!

I think I got the tone wrong on this one. It’s not that serious a critique of domain handles - I just wanted to point out the irony of bluesky pbllc lacking a “main” domain that everyone can for sure trust - the closest bsky.app, which works *really really well* as the official announcements account

This impersonation vector always exists no matter what you do. I just think they missed a trick not having one authoritative bluesky domain and then sticking everything on subdomains so you could for sure trust that one root domain - however, that would look uglier than bsky.team, so who cares!

If you’re wondering, that picture is what the Android emulator gives you if you try and take a photo lol Anyway, patch for this + status bars should be coming soon, it’s in review atm

oh and blueskyweb.xyz how could I forget seems like they've set themselves up to *minimize* the benefit of domain handles for them because there's so many official domains to keep track of!
