Wait so there is still a bsky-hosted What's Hot feed? I thought they replaced that with Discover
3 6But the new one is personalized somehow, with things mixed in based on your likes or follows or something, right? So in logged out mode they use the same algo and just disable the personalized parts?

It might be customized to a particular DID, would be fun if somebody could figure out the details

@samuel.fm
it definitely is, you get an auth token that you can decode to get the DID. there's instructions in the feed gen template repo
1 1Natanael, Tech janitorI mean that open one. Is the public feed just unauthed or custom to a specific feed? Like, could they show different things to a brand new user with no customization vs somebody logged out?
1 2Samuelthe open one is just the Discover feed yeah
2 1Samuelyou'd be able to tell apart an unauthed user, because they wouldn't send a token
Kuba Suder 🇵🇱🇺🇦Lol I think I found some kind of bsky test account 😂 bsky.app/profile/did:...
Discover/WhatsHot is hosted at discover.bsky.social, which also hosts this account's two feeds 🙃 discover.bsky.social/xrpc/app.bsk...
