ooh yes (consider a border for contrast too) but also no subtitle/caption button, consider hiding buttons for unreleased features, consider a PiP button, and move the progress off the edge if you can (like how twitter/youtube do it)
but like... pretty cool π
ah yeah we'll have captions. PiP is a bit out of scope. and I'll move the progress up once scrubbing is implemented (otherwise people will try and click on it and be disappointed)
it's a default-on setting - but for bsky (and similar apps where you expect a user doing multiple things), there's a surprising (well...) amount of nuance
I wonder if the PiP could already be available with Firefox, Opera & Vivaldi since all three embark a quite good PiP player that can work with pretty much every video player.
Would love to test :p
you have to choose to implement - developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W... - but it's not a tricky API, but like... in a timeline what do you do? Do you pause when scrolling, etc. etc.
someone sends me a DM with an embedded vid, hit play, click PiP, back to main timeline (what happens?), see another video, press play on it (what happens to PiP?), etc. etc.
we should make apps that only do one thing at once
(there are some extensions that force it - chromewebstore.google.com/detail/force... - I don't use them anymore and they're a bit janky, but worked for the 'I just want an overlay and don't care about the app' scenario)
