I really like that the feed doesn't keep resetting to the top like Twitter does. It gives me a chance to read down a bit longer and then reset it when I'm ready
1. photos in messages
2. Bookmarks without the 📌 around
3. Ability to draft a thread pre-posting
I know you are working on video.
I like that the timeline doesn’t auto refresh.
Overall, really liking it here.
Thanks for asking
1. Bookmarks
2. Chat via the iOS app (unless I’m being super dense)
3. Posting videos to feeds
4. Verification method for public figures
5. Ability to stop my feed auto refreshing when I open the app
Pleaseandthankyou

2. Doh! 🤦🏻♂️

4. Hmm. I like the simplicity of this. Am hoping public figures use this and domain owners make it easy for them to do so. Colour me a little skeptical though, please.
5. 🙌
Appreciate the reply!
Super simple. Did mine. Talked someone else through it via WhatsApp. Am concerned about domain owners where there are potentially 000s of users, enabling it. “Too much work that I can be bothered to support”
Being able to Bookmark as an externally non-visible alternative to Liking or the 📌 workaround.
Ability to compose a multi-post thread before posting.
Ability to save drafts and to schedule posts.
The ability to annoy, as it stands, 98% of my Other Place followers with irrelevant content.
I’d like to come back in at the point I left when I was last on site - instead you always come in at the latest post so either have to read backwards in time or scroll all the way back to where you were previously
Yes! The language setting that makes sure you only see tweets in your set languages: why don't you extend that to the home feed? I would like to tweet in German, too, but hesitate because most followers are non-German.
The app is clunky on an iPad, especially when viewing in landscape. Image handling also strange, failing to fill screen and cropping when zoomed. Worst fault, tho, is going to top of feed when refreshing, instead of letting me read chronologically.
I don’t personally need notifications to tell me when someone has liked my posts or followed me but I do want to know when someone has replied to me.
Or maybe someone might only want notifications from people they follow.
Might be a short term solution but not really viable long term is it? Look at the fake MP accounts that joined yesterday. Who is going to bother buying & setting up a domain if they don't actually need one & what is to stop an impersonator from doing that anyway? A visible verified flag is needed.
yes, it’s basically an adoption problem at this point. the thing is, if we add bluechecks, we’d still have these fake accounts running around without bluechecks exactly like they’re doing now
Agree but once you start verifying, then at least users would know they were legitimate and would be more sceptical about ones without. How can the media pick up comments from "famous" or influential people on here instead of X if they are not sure of authenticity?
Oh yeah and one other thing (big one, this) - what if the algorithm promoted stuff that makes us feel empowered / hopeful / united rather than (as with X / Meta) amplifying stuff that makes us scared / furious / divided in order to monetise our attention?
you can pick and choose which algorithm you want to use. we've made the Discover feed, but if you're not happy with it you can pick a different one. Developers are also empowered to make novel new ones
WOAH I had absolutely not realised this - this is VERY exciting (paging @imranahmed.bsky.social - did you know this?!).
Is there a how-to guide somewhere on the web? Would love to have a play with this
Not sure if it's just my browser (I'm on Chrome), but when I hover cursor over a user (image photo or handle) it doesn't pop up a preview of their biog - would be super helpful if it did
Wish I could refresh the timeline without it jumping to the latest post – ideally the new posts would load above the one I was on when I refreshed, which would remain static on screen
My suggestions would be drafts, edit button, bookmark button, verification.
Also a few years back there was an app called Nuzzle which would collate the most popular links posted by your Twitter follows that day / week. I think Twitter bought it and shut it down. Something like that and be great.
What are you looking for in a bookmarks feature?
If you don't mind them being public, you can use this: bsky.app/profile/jaz.bsky…
Private ones aren't possible in the app right now, you'll need to store these in a third party service (I share them to my note taking app)
Also, just for my understanding, if we Like a post, is that visible to other users? (Hoping so - think one of the lessons from Twitter is that anonymous Likes can favour extremist content)
Please can you make long pressing the search icon in the bottom tab bar open the search screen and also focus the search box and pop up the keyboard?
It’s a handy little shortcut that Twitter and Instagram apps both offer on iPhone (I’m unsure what their Android apps do).
Edit:
Threads does it too.
Unrelated/related: editing would be nice. I’d even take a “delete and repost” convenience fake edit if that’s all that’s feasible in the short term.
Definitely missing the joy of constantly having to block porn bots.
But speaking of blocks... Block inside Feeds seems flaky, I haven't rigorously confirmed, but it appears that a blocked account remains visible until you move away from a feed and back again.
Will some sort of verification system eventually happen? Like Twitter in the old days when a "Blue Tick" proved the account holder was who they said they were!
