not firefox though :( hopefully they start supporting hls soon, now that both chrome and safari do
4 1 32amusingly i have hls playback working totally fine in firefox right now. something tells me you have a codec problem.
1 7that or i really need to make my hls player usable outside of the specific context of my vodjam entry bc it's ACTUALLY useful for Firefox compat lol
2 1 9firefox only supports hls on android π΅βπ«

The most irritating thing of all is Firefox Mobile supports PWAs, but after the fall of FirefoxOS many years ago, they refuse to add it to desktop. Firefox Mobile also has this collections thing... which *does not* sync to desktop.
Like... huh???
1 3Edge is also baffling. It used to work until they made it a chromium fork back in 2018.
2 2It's always funny to me that for a brief while, even during IE11, Trident was the only actual standards compliant rendering engine that also had features nobody else had.
3I literally have hls playback in desktop firefox lmao. idk maybe my vendored version of wasp-hls is doing weird sorcery but it does work.
2 2oh i mean, sure if you add a hls library lol. we use hls.js for bsky. but safari/chrome support just whacking a .m3u8 in a <video> tag with zero dependencies
2 5Did you install some extension/userscript and forget about it?
I've done that multiple times.
1 1nah I have a library so it works even if yhe browser support (that firefox has but which is off by default) isnt enabled.
1 1How exactly are you using wasp-hls? I looked it up and can't make sense of that from the project's readme.
1 1What's missing?
2 7Not gonna use a polyfill like HLS.js?
